Ebla National Park is Egypt's most biodiverse area located in the southeast corner on the border of the Red Sea and Sudan. It is a mist oasis, meaning that the water source is the mist that forms on the mountains allowing plants to grow. The highest peak is Gebel Elba, after whom the park is named, and it can receive 400 mm of water a year due to its large side facing the Red Sea causing the large quantity of mist and clouds that form there. Because of this this protectorate has a different ecosystem than that found anywhere else in Egypt.
